THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS RETURNS

The Dark Knight Returns returns in a new DVD. The groundbreaking comic book by Frank Miller and Lynne Varley is being released in animated form. The comic book that regenerated the genre and led to the cinematic versions of Batman that followed is now available on screen; and it looks good, very good.
However this is not the first time that The Dark Knight Returns (DK1) has received the animated treatment. A few years back there was a sequence in the acclaimed Batman: the animated series that came directly from DK1. It's interesting to contrast the two versions.
Hopefully if DK1 animated is a success we may see the hyper kinetic The Dark Knight Strikes Again (DK2) bought to the silver screen; now that would be a real challenge
