Gene Hackman. Is there a more consistent actor ? I don't think so. Not even DeNiro or Pacino can boast Hackman's track record which is thick on quality and very low on dross. Hackman is both reliable and versatile adept at gravitas and lightness of touch. Gene Hackman; from Popeye Doyle to Lex Luther he always delivers. As close as you'll get to the old style Bogart Cagney and Tracey stars.
