Curiosity corner: FLEXI DISCS

'Place coin here'
That was the legend on the humble flexi disc. Given away free by music papers, magazines, Fan clubs and record shops they were a marketing tool that all bands seemed to use be they Pop, Prog, Rock Indie or otherwise.
The quality on these discs was variable but they had an appeal that is missing in today's music industry. They were free and a bit of fun. I had a good few myself, where they now reside is anyones guess, they were throw away and instant and no poorer for it.
