PUNK? ANTHEMS?




Anthemic punk songs taking the Springsteen approach to building a song to try and capture an essence. Here are some of those songs that tried to expand the 3 minute pop song template, with varying levels of success, and varying levels of credibility within a scene that was very fragmented. These, by and large, came a couple of years after the 'glory years' of '76 and '77 and showed the pop leanings that led into the 80's domination of the so called New Wave.
