Reality TV reached saturation point some time ago. The Goose that laid the golden egg slaughtered mercilessly by repetition. One programme that can probably be categorised as a reality show is Channel 4's 24 hours in A & E.
It has no gimmick it just tells the stories of patients admitted to Kings Hospital Accident & Emergency in London and the professionals who keep them alive and well.
It is emotional but in a way that is not manipulated.
The opening of each episode of this, the second series, is moving and true.
It is that rarity in phoney baloney TV it is genuine in its portrayal of human triumph over adversity. I recommend you watch it next time you need a reminder of what's really important in life.
