My Top Ten Comic Books For New Readers
No, not individual issues, story arcs or collections more ongoing stories/series that have been of consisitent quality, material that you can 'dip your toe in'. I haven't included Watchmen, Maus, V for Vendetta, The Dark Knight Returns, From Hell, Jimmy Corrigan or a number of other titles that are easily available, well known and perhaps have been sampled. This is just a list of the stuff I have enjoyed and perhaps a guide for those that have asked me about getting into comic book reading. It's a mix of the mainstream and the independent, the complex and the easily digested. Some of it requires a basic knowledge of comics and some is just great storytelling in the form of a comic book.
