One of the most iconic TV themes of all time by Lalo Schifrin, Mission impossible gave the viewer a sneak of what was to come in each episode all coreographed to the tension of the burning fuse.
Funny, I had completely forgotten M:I used to have clips from the proceeding episode interspersed in the theme. I'm sure it's not a coincidence that SPACE: 1999 (featuring M:I stars Martin Landau and Barbara Bain) did the same thing (at least in the first series). Whaddaya know!
