JUMPING THE SHARK-JOHN CARPENTER

Escape from LA
The Trailer-Better than the movie

King of the 'Bs' John Carpenter made some of the best Genre Movies ever with Assault on Precinct 13, Halloween, They Live, Dark Star, Escape from New York, The Fog and The Thing, however his decline reached it's bottom most point with Escape From LA in 1996. Although it reunited Carpenter with Kurt Russel in the iconic role of Snake Plisken and had a great genre cast including Pam Grier, Steve Buscemi, Bruce Campbell, Stacey Keach, Peter Fonda and Cliff Robertson, it was a mess; an overblown overly bombastoic mess. Some of the action scenes are just plain idiotic, for example the excrutiating surfing scene, and it has none of the subversion of it's forebearer. A shadow of the original Escape from New York.
Escape from LA's very own Jump the shark sequence
