After The Fast Show and before Little Britain was Big Train starring
Simon Pegg, Mark Heap, Kevin Eldon, Rebecca Front, Julia Davis, Phil Cornwall and Catherine Tate. This surreal sketch show is as good as any other sketch show that's been on the BBC. From the weekly animated staring contest to the domestic arrangements of Ming the Merciless, the medieval adventures of Keith Emerson to a terminator Tin Man, Big Train is a sketch show that was brimming with ideas. I enjoyed it and the cast have gone on to be successful in the comedy world. If sketch shows aren't your thing, look away now.
